November 2026 Meeting Summary

The MSUG Market Systems User Group meeting contained information about:

  • API URL Changes – September 2026
    • The new production API URLs are live.
    • AEMO decommissions the legacy URLs on 1 December 2026.
    • Participants should update their configurations and move to the new URLs before this date.
    • Participants who receive an API usage email should check the listed legacy APIs with their IT teams.
  • IDAM – Identity and Access Management – May 2027
    • IDAM replaces the current User Rights Management (URM) system.
    • AEMO currently designs and develops the new IDAM interfaces.
    • The current target dates are 1 March 2027 for pre-production and 2 May 2027 for production.
    • AEMO plans to share updated interface designs and an updated technical specification in the new year.
  • IDX Industry Data Exchange - Industry Data Exchange See Relevant Rules or Procedures Platform – August 2026
    • Most features from the August release are already in production.
    • The remaining features include the Event Notification API using WebSockets and the Outbound Archive web interface.
    • The Event Notification API provides proactive notifications when a message is ready, which reduces the need for participants to repeatedly poll their queues.
    • Event notifications contain message metadata only. Participants still retrieve the actual message separately.
    • Using Event Notification is optional.
  • IDX - Industry Data Exchange Platform – May 2027
    • The May 2027 IDX release adds new platform capabilities and interfaces.
    • New capabilities include the Hub Queue interface, Submit File interface, large file channel and enhancements to existing interfaces.
    • The release also supports additional message exchange patterns, including asynchronous messaging, fan-out and report delivery.
    • AEMO provides use cases in pre-production so participants can test the new IDX capabilities before the transition of existing market services to IDX.
  • EMMS – Data Model 5.8 – Oct 2026
    • Data Model 5.8 is now in production, and the Data Interchange report packages are available in Data Interchange Online Help.
    • The new ST PASA replacement tables and reports support the upcoming parallel run. Participants should continue using the existing ST PASA and PD PASA reports until the new reports go live.
    • Participants need to manually subscribe to new public reports introduced from Data Model 5.8 onwards. They can subscribe before data starts flowing.
    • The INTERCONNECTORID column increases from VARCHAR(10) to VARCHAR(20).
    • The new FCAS-related table is currently structure-only. AEMO communicates the data population date when it becomes available.
    • Data Model Manager version 1.3.0 includes licensing and security updates. The upgrade is not mandatory for Data Model 5.8, but AEMO recommends the latest version for improved security.
  • EMMS Energy Market Management System (formerly MMS); software, hardware, network and related processes. - Prudential Dashboard – October 2026
    • AEMO updates the Maximum Credit Limit calculation to support the Shortening Settlement Cycle changes.
    • The updated methodology reduces the outstanding period from 35 days to 21 days.
    • The calculation also introduces time-of-day pricing and calibration factors, and separately assesses credit and debit energy and reallocations.
    • AEMO starts assessing MCL under the new framework from 11 December 2026.
    • Participants should review the updated Credit Limit Procedures and monitor their MCL values in the Prudential Dashboard when the new calculation takes effect.
  • EMMS - System System refers to all the Web-based and File-based User Interfaces, Backend Services, APIs, Databases. Security Scheduler – November 2026
    • The release introduces new interfaces for DUID and region schedules.
    • The changes are available in pre-production and are scheduled for production on 17 November 2026.
    • AEMO is aware of an issue with the PUBLIC_SSM_FORECAST report where the report uses REGION instead of the REGIONID defined in the Data Model.
    • The team has a fix for this issue and is progressing it through the rollout process.
  • EMMS - Cash Dashboard - October 2026
    • The Cash Dashboard changes support the Shortening Settlement Cycle project.

    • Inverter Dispatch moves inverter limit instructions from a manual phone-based process to electronic communications for pre-dispatch and dispatch.
    • The latest technical specification includes updates to the interim solution and conformance monitoring labels.
    • The conformance monitoring labels are simplified to Normal, Limit Breached and Null.
    • The meeting notes that the pre-production date is likely to change from 15 February 2027 to 1 April 2027. The production target remains 15 May 2027.
    • The primary audience for these changes is inverter-based generators.
