February 2026 Meeting Summary

The MSUG Market Systems User Group meeting contained information about:

  • API Application Programming Interface; a set of clearly defined methods of communication between various software components. URL changes
    • Updating external facing API infrastructure requires participants to change their URLs. Old and new URLs will operate in parallel until the end of 2026, and the technical specification lists all affected URLs. No backend changes are required for participants. Support questions were addressed, including confirmation that bidding APIs are included.
  • Flexible Trading Arrangements (FTA)
    • Two FTA releases were discussed. Their pre production dates have been confirmed.
  • Shortening the Settlement Cycle (SSC)
    • Pre-production and production dates for MSATS and EMMS changes for SSC were provided. These dates include interface updates, schema updates, and changes to the data delivery calendar. The schema update process and online help resources were also noted.
  • Portfolio Management System (PMS)
    • PMS release dates were revised. Updates are pending confirmation, and new timelines will be communicated.
  • NEMWeb platform migration
    • NEMWeb hosting is migrating to a new platform that removes HTTP support and requires HTTPS. It also introduces case sensitive URLs and requires a PDR batcher patch for scraping. The transition follows a staged process for discontinuing legacy reports. Clear guidance is provided for each stage.
  • Electricity Data Model v5.7
    • A new version of Electricity Data Model v5.7 has been released. It includes modified tables and new Last Changed fields in FPP tables to support retrospective updates. There is no legacy rollover process, and report version numbers increase accordingly.
    • The ST PASA project transition is progressing through new tables that support PASA redevelopment. This includes parallel runs and a future cutover. Data is aggregated at zonal and regional levels, and zone boundaries and mappings will be published.
  • Action items and participant feedback
    • Requested action item fields are being implemented. A new FCAS requirement report for seven day pre dispatch is in development, with testing underway. The production rollout date will be confirmed.
    • Function descriptions have been added to technical specification portal titles. This change improves navigation and understanding, and participant feedback is invited.
  • Knowledge session: Upgrading a Data Model Environment
    • Highlighted differences in major and minor data model releases. It also covered the upgrade process, package structure, use of the Data Model Manager, manual and command line script options, loader service cache behaviour, and upgrade best practices.
  • Industry Data Exchange (IDX)
    • The IDX platform has been launched for business functions, beginning with basic power quality data. It transitions processes from legacy FTP and ASICS XML to RESTful APIs and OAuth2. Multiple interfaces and APIs are provided for transaction logs, archives, flow control, and participant status. An event notification service is planned, and transition guides and training will accompany future functions.
  • Next MSUG
    • The next MSUG is tentatively planned for 15 April 2026.
